Aching Legs
Footlogics: The science of walking comfort
Articles in this section
Symptoms:
The patient presents with a tired, aching feeling at the back of the knees and legs, particularly after standing for long periods of time.
Causes:
Aching legs are commonly caused by abnormal traction on the calf muscles (triceps surae). Excess pronation at the subtalar joint leads to internal tibial rotation, putting torsion and strain on the musculature of the lower leg.
Treatment:
Footlogics orthotics control excess pronation, thereby preventing internal tibial rotation and reducing the torsional forces on the musculature of the lower leg. Calf stretches may also help to reduce the tightness in the triceps surae.
Recommended Footlogics insoles:
We suggest Footlogics 3/4 PRO and Footlogics Premium for this common condition.
